The advance program for Medical Spa Show 2025 (MSS) is the heaviest yet, with an impressive courseload presented by celebrated speakers. A practitioner's time is incredibly valuable, so to help you efficiently plan your conference schedule, we’ve highlighted the most relevant clinical courses for aesthetic injectors. Ultrasound Fundamentals

Arguably, the most important aspects of the patient journey are the assessment, diagnosis and treatment plan forged between provider and patient. With the plethora of information easily available to patients, they tend to seek specific treatments with little fundamental knowledge of facial balancing and harmony. Therefore, the consultation and assessment is paramount. Dr. Sachin M. Shridharani will discuss the intricacies of an anatomic full face evaluation. Attendees will discover assessment and anatomical considerations that will drive patient treatment planning and understand the importance of patient treatment planning and full face consultation for optimal outcomes.
Nonsurgical Rhinoplasty: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Decoding Asymmetry: Causes, Effects, and Even One-sided Solutions

Every face tells a unique story of balance and asymmetry, shaped by intrinsic factors established at birth and extrinsic factors accumulated over time. In this session, Lisa Rivero, APRN, MSN, FNP-BC, FPA, will explore the fascinating interplay between a face’s dominant and non-dominant sides, examining how differences in bone structure, fat distribution, and muscle activity contribute to natural asymmetry. She will also dive into the impact of extrinsic factors, which can accelerate aging or further create asymmetry on one side of the face, creating visible imbalances. Through case studies, attendees will learn how to assess these asymmetries and apply targeted treatments to one side of the face to restore harmony and symmetry.

Beyond Binary Beauty: Elevating Transgender Care in Medical Aesthetics

This comprehensive session addresses the unique aesthetic needs of male-to-female (MTF) transgender patients in the medical spa setting. Participants will gain in-depth knowledge of facial feminization techniques, body contouring procedures, and strategies for creating a welcoming, inclusive environment for transgender clients. The course will feature a live demonstration of feminization treatments on a model, providing students with a practical, hands-on learning experience. Temple Tune-Up: The Power of Cosmetic Injections in High Risk Areas

Cosmetic temple injections are a non-surgical cosmetic treatment that involves injecting a filler substance into the temples to restore volume and contour to the face. The procedure is designed to address the loss of volume and sagging skin that can occur in the temples as we age, which can contribute to a tired or aged appearance. The learning objectives of this presentation includes understanding the anatomy of the temple area and how it changes with age, learning about the different types of fillers used for temple injections and their properties, understanding the injection technique and how to achieve natural-looking results, learning about the potential risks and complications associated with temple injections, and understanding how to assess patients for candidacy and manage patient expectations. Additionally, this presentation will educate health care professionals on the benefits and limitations of temple injections, provide practical guidance on how to perform the procedure safely and effectively, encourage health care professionals to incorporate temple injections into their practice to offer patients a non-surgical option for facial rejuvenation, and empower health care professionals to provide patients with realistic expectations and informed consent for the procedure.
Trendy Tox: Traps, Tips, Necks and Facial Slimming

Participants in this session will learn all aspects of advanced botulinum toxin injection techniques. Special emphasis will be placed on facial anatomy, patient selection, treatment of complications and contraindications. Erika Barry, NP-C, will focus on the dose and injection technique for facial slimming and priming the face prior to dermal filler. Attendees will learn Botulinum toxin A injection techniques, facial anatomy, patient selection, contraindications, and treatment of complications of trapezius, masseter, DAO, mentalis and platysma muscles, as well as parotid glands. This session will also feature a live demonstration on full facial advanced Botox, focusing on slimming and priming the face.
How to Navigate Body Dysmorphia as an Aesthetic Professional

Social media and celebrity comparisons breed appearance-deprecating behavior that can increase dissatisfaction in treatment results, overall looks and worsen body dysmorphic disorder (BDD). Aesthetic practitioners need to be highly tuned to the patient's potential for pre-existing and escalating body dysmorphia behavior. This discussion will help practitioners anticipate their patients' treatment outcome expectations and determine if their treatments will be able to meet those expectations or if they should deny treatment. Leslie Fletcher, NP-BC, will reveal results from a four-month pilot study where a multi-phasic, cryptic pre-screening collection tool was utilized in U.S. offices. A copy of this tool will be given to participants of this course.

Male and Female Facial Balancing

This course focuses on the specialized techniques and considerations for enhancing male and female facial aesthetics using hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers and biostimulants. Participants will learn how to address common concerns and achieve natural-looking results tailored specifically to male and female patients.
Neurotoxin Resistance

The presentation will include the current theories on aesthetic neurotoxin resistance. It will include a thorough review of the literature. Preventative measures will be discussed. "Pseudo-resistance” will be defined. A novel new technique that Steven Weiner, MD, has been using will be explained, as will his reasoning behind why it works in some cases.

Learn from some of these top injectors about the most severe complications they have experienced and the techniques and connections they used to address them.
AIA Cadaver Training: Live Cadaver Dissection Course
7am – 4pm | Christopher C. Surek, DO, FACS, and AIA Faculty
Safe injections come from a deep understanding of facial anatomy. The AIA Cadaver Training at MSS provides classroom education on anatomy paired with practical exposure to the various layers of the face via cross-sectional dissection. The didactic education and the cadaver lab are led by Chris Surek, DO, FACS, one of the foremost anatomists in medical aesthetics. Through dyed filler injections followed by hands-on dissection, you’ll see exactly how injectable product interacts with structures and vessels in the face.
