Combined treatment for scars

Surgical scars demonstrated better improvement with a super-pulsed fractional CO2 laser in combination with standard silicone gel treatment as opposed to silicone gel only, according to a study in Lasers in Surgery and Medicine (LSM).
“Patients associate good surgical results with a good-looking scar,” says co-author Eduardo Faria Vicari, M.D., a plastic surgeon in private practice in Ponte Nova, Brazil. “The carbon dioxide laser has been very promising to treat scars.”
