Prescription Discount Program Now Available to AmSpa Members!
Posted By American Med Spa Association, Monday, March 23, 2015
Insurance Office of America (IOA), administrator of the American Medical Spa Association’s (AmSpa) malpractice insurance program, has exciting news! Every AmSpa member now has the ability to save up to 65% on their prescription medication purchases! What better than saving on prescription purchases? How about knowing this is a completely free service that can be used at a nationwide network of more than 59,000 participating pharmacies.
Saving on your prescription medicine purchases with the discount card couldn’t be easier! Simply present your discount card to one of the participating pharmacies. That’s it! Your pharmacist will be able to tell you the cost of your medications using the discount card versus the cost if it went through your health insurance. You can then decide which makes the most financial sense to you.
With so many high-deductible health insurance plans in place around the country or people without coverage, this discount card gives AmSpa members another way to save and to provide a valuable resource to their employees. Additionally, because the discount card is not tied to a specific individual, all members of your family can take advantage of the savings.
Contact your AmSpa representative to find out how you can obtain your free prescription discount card.
There are only a few factors to remember:
1. This is a discount card and not an insurance product.1
2. You cannot use the discount card along with the prescription drug coverage you may have through your health insurance provider; and
3. To determine if the amounts paid for prescription medications (after using the discount card) would reduce your health insurance deductible, you would need to submit a claim to your insurer.
1 This is not insurance. Non-prescription medical equipment and over-the-counter products are not included in the program. This prescription discount program is not an insurance plan or entity that covers prescription drug costs or arranges for prescription services. Prescriptions may be filled at any pharmacy; however, the prescription discount program provides a discount only at a participating pharmacy. Members are responsible for paying all fees for services directly to the provider.
