The June 1-2 “boot-camp style" program in Chicago will provide intensive instruction on how to open a medical spa or add an aesthetic program to your current medical practice. The program will feature renowned speakers giving detailed instruction on topics, such as branding, marketing, bookkeeping, design, and the laws and regulations affecting medical aesthetic practices.
The American Med Spa Association (AmSpa) today announced the agenda for its intensive, “boot-camp style” training program on June 1st and 2nd in Chicago, specifically designed for physicians and entrepreneurs looking to open a medical spa or add aesthetics to their current practice. The two-day program is designed to provide practitioners with all the tools needed to profitably open a medical spa.
“This program is designed to be the most intensive and in-depth training program ever developed for doctors or entrepreneurs looking to open a medical spa,” says founder and director of AmSpa, Alex Thiersch. “We have the most knowledgable and dynamic speakers nationwide, all coming together to provide detailed instruction on every aspect of opening and operating an aesthetic medical practice."
According to the agenda, featured speakers include renowned plastic surgeon, Steven H. Dayan, MD, FACS, who will share insight into what made him one of the most successful aesthetic physicians in the world; Louis Frisina, who will present an expanded version of his signature “20 Habits of Successful Medical Spas” talk; and Terri A. Wojak, who will address profiting from selling skin care at your aesthetic practice.
“We believe we have the best line-up of speakers ever assembled,” says Thiersch. “And not only is the talent there, over two full days we’ve constructed an intimate, hands-on environment where attendees will learn a broad spectrum of skills at a very granular level. Our motto in developing this program was, ‘if you don’t want to buckle down and learn, don’t bother coming.’ It’s going to be intense."
Other can't miss speakers speaking during the program include:
The program is broken down into 11 chronological segments over the course of two days, each dealing with a particular aspect of opening an aesthetic medical practice. From drafting a business plan, designing a space to provide for proper flow and retail sales, setting up proper accounting and financial metrics, and developing a sound marketing and branding strategy, the program will provide detailed instruction on how to open - and profitably operate - a medical spa.
Attendance is limited to 40 to provide one-on-one access to the speakers. Attendees will also attend a complimentary dinner and reception on June 1. Attendees will also leave with a complimentary handbook containing many tools to implement what they’ve learned over the course.
"This course is designed to set a new standard for education in this arena, and we hope it will serve as a model for the rest of the industry,” says Thiersch. "We couldn’t be more excited for what is to come."
