As the end of 2015 draws nearer, industry professionals survey the innovations and techniques that rose to popularity in the last 12 months and are eager to provide their predictions for the next. This has been an especially exciting year for the aesthetics industry, including new FDA approvals, new injectables (Kybella), and new equipment (Verju and CoolSculpt Mini). Here are the top 10 plastic surgery trends for 2016 according to board-certified plastic surgeon Norman Rowe, M.D., from Rowe Plastic Surgery (New York City).

1. Millennials will increasingly become users of plastic surgery. The 20-somethings represent approximately 20% of the cosmetic surgery population, and this is only going to increase, (American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery).
2. Minimally invasive procedures will continue to grow as they present less downtime and ever improving results due to better pharmaceuticals and technologies. Over 80% of the almost 11 million cosmetic procedures performed in 2014 were of the non-surgical type. (ASAPS)
3. The male patient is an ever increasing user of plastic surgery. Male patients represented 10% of all cosmetic patients in 2014.
