Vagaro Research Highlights LGBTQIA+ Hair & Beauty Consumer Perspectives

Vagaro, Inc., in partnership with Talker Research, polled 300 LGBTQIA+ beauty consumers for their experiences and insights about the beauty industry.
Key highlights:
- Two-thirds of participants say they feel represented in the mainstream hair & beauty industry
- Among age groups, Gen X reported the highest level of comfortability with their gender expression
- 26% of participants say LGBTQIA+ representation is an important factor when choosing a business to book a beauty appointment
- Among age groups, Gen Z was more likely to consider representation in staff an important factor
- 27% of participants prioritize purchasing products from LGBTQIA+ friendly brands
