How do you build and grow your aesthetic practice with safety and compliance at the forefront? By engaging in the latest clinical, legal and business best-practices, surrounding yourself with a network of like-minded professionals, and building partnerships with brands you can trust.
At Medical Spa Show, learning extends outside the classroom. There are many ways to learn from your community, from speakers’ pearls of wisdom but also from the experiences of 2,000 fellow attendees and from the latest industry trends and innovations from more than 100 exhibitors. Whether you are a prospective med spa owner interested in learning about aesthetics or a 10-year veteran of the profession, the knowledge and connections you take home from MSS set you on the path for success.
Aesthetics, as you hear time and again, is a field of constant evolution. To stay up to date in this profession, medical spas often build continuing education into the job requirements. Injectors, laser technicians, aestheticians, and all other providers will find that new devices and technology update year to year, even if only in technique or best practices.
Most recently, injectors are learning to help patients who come in with concerns of “Ozempic face.” The right education will teach practitioners to counsel and treat patients appropriately, while also giving them the tools to properly market their services. Another rising concern? How AI, though a helpful tool, could be putting your business at risk if used without regard to patient privacy laws. If your team isn’t keeping up with the latest guidance, can you be confident as you forge ahead?
The need for education doesn’t apply only to clinical skills; keeping up with the latest training is essential for staff in every position in your medical spa. To build and sustain a high-performing team, medical spa owners invest in training for everything from financials to hiring and compensation, practice management, front desk fundamentals, and more. The value comes through when your team is well-rounded and ready to adapt to the changes the next year will bring.
“It’s the only multi-disciplinary meeting that I attend that’s all practices, and the scope of the medical, legal and business is really the reason that I come back. You don’t get that at any other meeting.” Regina Fearmonti, MD, at Medical Spa Show 2020
Medical Spa Show 2025, in its eighth year, is bringing a mix of courses across business, legal and clinical topics to help practices grow. With fundamentals and advanced courses, medical spas at every stage of practice find relevant material to strengthen their business.
Educational Tracks in 2025 include:
Newcomers to the medical aesthetics industry have a lot to learn. Entrepreneurs need to get a grasp on how an elective medical practice runs, and how they can legally profit from a med spa (Who can own a med spa? What is an MSO?). Once they get past the ownership question and start to learn about supervision and delegation, entrepreneurs quickly get over their head. Health care practitioners, meanwhile, may have the license and even the clinical training to safely and competently practice aesthetics, but they often do not have the business education to start their own practices without further assistance.
Business, legal and financial courses tailored to medical aesthetics are the obvious next step for anyone hoping to get involved in opening a medical spa. Medical Spa Show (MSS) covers the essentials from performance dashboards to structuring your business and managing a team, to how to price your services.

The HR Panel: Hiring, Retaining, Compensating and Managing Your Aesthetic Team
Saturday, April 12: 4:25 – 4:50pm
A great deal of attendees at Medical Spa Show are in the 2 – 5-year age of practice. Many attend MSS, then a Medical Spa Boot Camp, or vice versa, to get to know what they don't yet know about the industry and subsequently better their businesses. Med spas in this middle stage of practice may find that they’ve outgrown old systems of thinking, reached a plateau or are on the path to steady growth and want to maintain that trajectory. Newer practices may be lighter on their feet and more willing to try the latest trends, with enough equity established to take a few chances to appeal to their loyal clientele. Young businesses at this stage will be doing some things very well and will have gotten the chance to identify their weak areas and opportunities for improvement.
Advanced business, legal and clinical courses, plus trending treatment and technology education will send practice managers back ready to make enhancements. Fundamental courses will serve as a good refresher if needed, but practices at this stage are ready for most educational offerings.

Veterans of the profession may know all there is to know in their specialty. However, scientific advancement is ongoing, and new developments pop up in data management, legislation, and aesthetic trends. The practitioners who started working with botulinum toxin before it became mainstream still have to meet the demands of their patients and navigate changes in digital marketing, AI, EMR platforms, devices, etc. When it comes to weight loss ramifications and AI, the entire industry is impacted.
Because established practices of more than ten years will be well versed in the fundamentals and clinical techniques, they have more time to devote to learning specific skills and new research in areas where they can still grow. Thought leadership, panels and case studies are particularly interesting for those who can contribute their own experience. They may also be at the stage beyond expansion, when they consider investment or selling the brand. The building investor partnerships forum on Saturday morning is a great option for businesses interested in learning about taking the next step toward outside capital.

“The Medical Spa Show is a crucial show to come to if you’re entering aesthetics industry because it has all of your resources, all of your mentors, all of your community, all of your lessons that you need to learn about growth, and clinical education, and legal and compliance in one place.” Katie Duke, ACNP-BC, at Medical Spa Show 2024
In April, you can expect to see new and returning faces. What brings the same faces back to MSS year after year? The people.
One of those returning faces is likely to be Vrinkley Pruna, MSN, NP, co-owner of Shape & Skin Medical Spa and Weight Loss in Huntington Beach, FL. Pruna has been attending AmSpa events since 2018 and first became a member thanks to winning one of the raffle prizes. She has since continued to invest in her knowledge and become part of the community. After five years of growing her skills and building up her practice, she presented her first course at Medical Spa Show 2023.
“That was amazing. That was honestly the most surreal part is because you were there from the very beginning—you know me, just walking around with my mom and playing the game, and now, to become one of the speakers and have you introduce me, that was probably the most like surreal full-circle moment for me.” Vrinkley Pruna, NP, to Michela Bailey in an episode of Medical Spa Insider
Powerful business partnerships have been formed at AmSpa events. Medical Spa Show was the site of an interaction that has built one of the fastest-growing franchises in the aesthetics industry. Melissa Rogne, president of Chapter Aesthetic Studio, first spoke to AmSpa’s QP magazine in 2019 about Rejuv Medical Aesthetic Clinic in Fargo, North Dakota. Under her leadership, Rejuv flourished in a 12,000-square-foot facility, bringing in consistent growth for more than 15 years. Rogne’s reputation and Midwest success story captured the attention of representatives from The Aspen Group, who were looking for a partner to help them expand into the aesthetics space. Now, she is building the foundation for Chapter Aesthetic Studio practices across the country, scaling her beloved brand, attracting new customers, and building a trusted name in aesthetic care.
“What I knew, what I believed, is that the same principles that I applied to Rejuv would be the same principles that would allow us to be successful.” Melissa Rogne, on an episode of Medical Spa Insider
Listen to more of Melissa’s story on AmSpa’s Medical Spa Insider podcast.
“What surprised me the most about the Medical Spa Show was just the kindred spirit here. It’s a big event but it feels very close-knit and it’s more warm and inviting than I expected it to be.” Sarah Baxley, DNP, Destin Medical Spa
Part of building a successful med spa is making connections with peers in the industry. Medical Spa Show is an excellent place to find like-minded peers who are just as eager to meet you and learn from your shared experience.
More than that, MSS brings together the most respected stars and key opinion leaders of the industry to share their knowledge with you. That spirit of community extends past the curated education and into the conversations that fill the halls of the conference space. At MSS, people from all sizes, business models and stages of practice come together to talk shop.
Meet people who do what you do, whether you are a practice manager in Michigan or a solo injector in the Pacific Northwest; whether your med spa brings in $3 million a year or is just starting out; whether you are a top Allergan account or are here to find those brand partnerships. When you speak with the people who face the same problems and are meeting milestones alongside you, it becomes even easier to take home the knowledge you gain in sessions.
At MSS, you can pick the brains of the most prominent providers, trainers and entrepreneurs in medical aesthetics. They want to see the industry thrive by supporting the positive development of safe, responsible, driven practices. Take advantage of the opportunity to speak with people who have reached the next milestones and finetune your business plan based on their advice and perspective.
“We said it before and I’ll say it again. This organization feels like a family, so it’s almost like catching up with everyone and kind of seeing where everybody’s at and kind of growing together.” Linda Cervantes, LVN, Elle Med Spa
The many panels at MSS present a prime opportunity to engage with the coursework and ask questions to better your business practices, improve your clinical technique, or ensure you are in compliance. Explore the agenda at medicalspashow.com/agenda.
“So many people that get into this space are great practitioners, but they really need to learn about the industry, the business side of that and network with their peers and come talk to the vendors. We’re not here just to sell you something—we’re here to be your partner, we’re here to help you grow.” John Vakidis, DoctorLogic at Medical Spa Show 2023
Investing in your growth also involves establishing business relationships with device manufacturers, practice management platforms, digital marketing firms, skin care companies, lawyers, business consultants and more.
Brand partners in the expo hall are thoroughly vetted, to ensure their products and services align with the needs of AmSpa members and attendees. A gathering of 140 exhibitors awaits attendees of Medical Spa Show 2025, who can look forward to learning about the latest trends in aesthetics, what's new in product development and which vendors might suit the evolving needs of their aesthetic practice.
“This is my third year attending. Every time, we learn and implement new things. At the end of this year, I can honestly say we are doing business with 12 of the vendors here. Half of these vendors we hadn’t known about until we attended.” Kayla Tezcucano, at Medical Spa Show 2023
The AmSpa community is about much more than a one-time ticket to an event. It’s the gateway to meeting the people who will grow alongside you, with a shared commitment to safety, compliance and success.
“If you’re thinking about coming, come to the AmSpa show. You learn so much about safety, compliance, techniques, new techniques, new devices coming down the pipeline for the future. This is a great show to find out anything and everything about the med spa or aesthetic world.” Mai Linh Graham, PA-C, Evolve MD Modern Med Spa
