While many will be using their tax refund to pay down debt, a new survey says a great deal of people are planning to use their check on cosmetic surgery.
The new survey conducted by RealSelf.com shows 36 percent of Americans intend to use all or part of their tax return to pay for a cosmetic procedure.
Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Anthony Bared says he sees an increase of patients in the summer months.
"Being a cosmetic procedure and elective surgery, there are some financial implications to having the procedure," Dr. Bared said.
The number of people interested in plastic surgery post tax return has gone up from 13 percent in 2016, according to the website.
"We're seeing in general more of a demand for cosmetic surgery. I think patients, both men and women, are becoming more comfortable with cosmetic surgery given the natural outcomes that we are able to provide," Dr. Bared said.
