Study Shows Patients Trust Providers More When Wearing Transparent Masks Compared to Standard Masks

A first-of-its-kind study published in the Journal of American Medical Association Surgery on March 11, 2021, suggests that doctors who wear ClearMask transparent face masks greatly improve communication with patients compared to doctors whose faces are blocked by a standard face mask. Results showed that providers who wore the ClearMask are not only better communicators, but also are perceived as having more empathy and elicit greater trust.
